Izran Khan ("we," "our," or "us") operates the iSplit: SettleUp Group Bills mobile application (the "App"), available on the Apple App Store and Google Play. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our App on either platform.
We respect your privacy. iSplit is designed to facilitate group expense tracking and settlement with minimal data collection. Your financial data — including expense details, group balances, and payment records — is stored locally on your device and only shared with group members through the features you explicitly use.

Information We Collect
The App collects the following information to provide its expense tracking and settlement features:
- Account information: Your name and optional profile details you provide during setup.
- Expense data: Receipt images you capture, line item descriptions, amounts, assignment selections, and group allocation data you create.
- Group information: Group names, member names, and the expense and settlement history of groups you create or join.
- Payment records: Settlement amounts, payment methods (cash, JazzCash, Easypaisa, etc.), and timestamps you record.
- Guest participant data: For ephemeral guest links, the recipient's name or identifier as entered by the organizer, and their settlement responses.
Information We Do NOT Collect
- Your precise location data
- Device identifiers or advertising IDs
- Your contact list contents (we only access specific contacts you explicitly select)
- Your payment account credentials or financial account details
- Read receipts or message content from WhatsApp or other messaging apps
Permissions
iSplit requests the following permissions solely for the features described:
Camera
Requested only when you tap the Scan Receipt icon inside the Add Expense screen. Used exclusively to capture receipt images for OCR processing. We do not store your images after parsing is complete. If you decline, you can enter expenses manually.
Contacts
Requested only when you tap Add Friends from Phonebook inside a group dashboard. Used exclusively to help you find and add group members quickly. We do not upload your contact list to our servers. If you decline, you can add members by name and share guest links manually.
Push Notifications
Requested after you save your first expense or join your first active group. Used to notify you when someone settles a payment, adds an expense, or when a guest marks their balance as paid. You can disable notifications at any time. The App works fully without notifications.
Ephemeral Guest Links
When you share a guest link, recipients can view their balance and mark payments without creating an account or downloading the App. Guest link data is temporary. Recipients see only their own balance and contributing expenses. No personal information is retained after the link expires or the group is archived. Guest participants are never asked for personal information beyond their name as entered by the organizer.
Data Storage & Security
Your expense data, group information, and settlement records are stored locally on your device and optionally synced to our servers to enable group sharing features. Data transmitted between devices is encrypted in transit. We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data. We recommend enabling your device's built-in security features — passcode, Face ID, or Touch ID — to protect the App.
Data Deletion
You can delete individual expenses, groups, or your entire account from within the App at any time. To delete all iSplit data, uninstall the App from your device. You can also request full account deletion by contacting us at the email below.
Third-Party Services
The App may contain links to third-party websites or services, including the Apple App Store and Google Play. We are not responsible for the content, privacy practices, or terms of service of any third-party services. Your use of third-party services is at your own risk and subject to their respective terms and policies.
Children's Privacy
The App is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us at izranafridi@gmail.com and we will take steps to delete such information.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
